Seattle’s Homeward Pet Adoption Center to Benefit from Twitter Charity Fundraising Event at Seastar Restaurant in Bellevue, WA on September 25th

Seastar Restaurant will host a 2-hour Twitter charity event in partnership with Lynn Haigh, founder of PawPawty, an organization that helps animals across the world through Twitter fundraisers. The event will not only take place physically at Seastar’s Bellevue location, but also virtually via Twitter. The goal of this real/virtual event is to raise $1,000.00 to benefit Homeward Pet, a no-kill rescue, shelter and adoption center which serves the greater Seattle area.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center, one of the largest no-kill shelters in the State of Washington, will benefit from an unprecedented charity fundraising event at Seastar Restaurant in Bellevue, WA on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 4 pm to 6 pm, PDT. “Paw Love in Seattle” will physically take place at Seastar Restaurant, and virtually everywhere else in the world via Twitter. The goal of this event is to raise $1,000.00 to benefit Homeward Pet.

Funds will be raised in several ways: The host, Seastar Restaurant will donate $2.00 to Homeward Pet for every mojito or cosmopolitan drink bought during the event. Both physical and virtual attendees will have the opportunity to make monetary donations onsite or online. Corporate sponsors will donate funds for this charity event and/or door prizes for the attendees.

Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar, located at 205 108th Ave. NE in Bellevue, WA, will host “Paw Love in Seattle.” Everyone who comes in to the restaurant for this event will receive a gift card for a free appetizer. One lucky winner will walk away with a $50.00 gift certificate to dine at the restaurant.

Many other items, donated by corporate sponsors, will be raffled off for those who come in to Seastar Restaurant during the fundraiser.

Lynn Haigh of PawPawty will also bring the world of Twitter into this event. PawPawty is a monthly Twitter event with participants from around the globe, structured to raise funds for animal rescue organizations throughout the world. PawPawty events have thousands of followers and participants, many of whom volunteer their time and talent to make the fundraisers possible.

People attending “Paw Love in Seattle” via Twitter will have the opportunity to donate funds to the charity via a secure online service provided by Homeward Pet. Virtual party goers will enjoy the spinning sounds of renowned Twitter DJs, while savoring the drinks served by virtual “barktenders.” They will also benefit from door prizes.

Twitter participants will interact during this 2-hour fundraising charity event by following the Twitter hashtag #PawLove. Restaurant attendees will also be tweeting to report on the events of the afternoon as they happen.

The charity fundraiser event “Paw Love in Seattle” is run by animal-lover volunteers, whose goal is to raise awareness of no-kill animal shelters.
